Our client is looking for a qualified, friendly and honest housekeeper/housekeeper for his private estate near Basel, who will take care of the management and cleaning of the estate with pleasure and commitment and will ensure the physical well-being of the guests by preparing fresh, balanced and light meals every day. In addition to the right personality, an impeccable reputation is also essential. This is a position of trust and a long-term commitment is expected. The basic requirement is to live on site. An apartment (max. two persons) will be made available to you. As the place of work is not accessible by public transport and your work also includes errands and shopping for the household, it is necessary that you have a driver's license. You are attentive and very well organized - even in the small things of everyday life. You have a trained eye for cleanliness and tidiness and are uncomplicated and practical. Your careful and thorough work helps to create a beautiful home for the family and maintain its value. Your flexibility and adaptability allow you to adjust to different requirements - this includes occasional assignments in the family home in the city of Basel and dealing with ad-hoc changes of plan.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Cooking and preparing healthy meals (morning, noon, evening) for three to seven people at a time. The cuisine should be light, fresh and healthy and include vegetarian options; separate cooking is not necessary, but the dishes should be prepared in such a way that vegetarians are not neglected.
  • Occasional catering for guests; invitations can be planned in advance; an external caterer may be called in for larger events. - Catering for guests/visitors (checkroom and drinks service); table setting for all meals.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the property together with two other long-term employees.
  • Dusting, floor cleaning, vacuuming and surface cleaning as well as care of high-quality furniture.
  • Making beds and changing bed linen. Laundry care (washing, ironing, sorting), including delicate clothing that requires special care.
  • Kitchen cleaning, stock planning, shopping, general errands, occasional driving services.
  • Organization of household items and replenishment of consumables.
  • Regular inspection of household appliances and reporting of repair requirements.
  • Waste disposal and recycling in accordance with regulations.
  • Mutual substitution and close cooperation with two colleagues; "housekeeping times" are agreed among each other.

Educational background | experience | expertise

  • Hotel management training or graduation from a housekeeping school or a comparable qualification in the field of "contemporary housekeeping"
  • Several years of experience and enthusiasm for the profession of housekeeper - ideally in a private household with appropriate references.
  • Cooking experience and enjoy preparing meals (light cuisine)
  • Very good knowledge of German.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques/use of suitable cleaning agents as well as safe handling of vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners and washing machines.
  • Practiced handling of various materials such as parquet, stone, carpet, glass, textiles and antiques as well as sensitive surfaces.
  • Experience in professional laundry care (stain removal, care requirements).
  • Constant compliance with hygiene standards.

  • Her communication style is clear, approachable, attentive and polite.
  • Strong service orientation: you are courteous and always ready to go the extra mile.
  • Very good time management is important in order to cope with the varied, often unforeseen things that happen during the course of the day.
  • They are reliable, trustworthy and honest; absolute discretion and integrity are essential.
  • You are a team player and contribute to a good working atmosphere.
  • Driving license class B (a car can be provided); criminal and debt collection register excerpt/certificate of good repute must be presented.
