An idea that
Connecting generations

The idea came to Basel native Alexis Weil when his father retired, even though he still felt fit as a senior citizen and would have liked to remain active in the job market. While many young retirees want to continue working, companies are increasingly faced with the challenge of finding skilled workers for their vacancies. The young entrepreneur recognized the immense potential of the older generation for the job market and founded seniors@work in 2018 to connect 50plus and retirees with companies and thus solve two problems at once.

In which areas are there jobs?

seniors@work offers one-off projects or part-time and full-time jobs in over 30 categories such as accounting, administration, mentoring, nursing, architecture, crafts, childcare and many more.

Why does it make sense for me to create a profile on seniors@work?

With a profile, you can be found by clients and contacted for orders or jobs. You can also greatly reduce the time and effort you spend on each application. You can easily apply for interesting jobs with just a few clicks.

Is there a charge for membership?

Basic membership is available from CHF 59 for 6 months to create a profile. With a Premium Membership you can use extended functions. For further information please contact here

I have my own company, can I still register?

Yes, you can also register if you have your own limited company. You can receive new orders and projects via seniors@work.

What criteria do I have to meet to register?

Our offer is aimed at motivated candidates aged 50 and over who want to continue to pass on their experience and expertise. In this way, you promote the exchange between the generations. 50plus, senior citizens, retirees and pensioners are therefore very welcome.

What information can be viewed in the profile?

We only ask for relevant information to increase your chances of a successful placement. At the end of the registration process, you will see a preview of your profile and can adjust your data accordingly.

How does communication with a client work?

You can use the internal chat to communicate with the client. You will be notified by e-mail when a new message is sent.

Am I still liable to pay AHV contributions after retirement?

Yes, in principle you are aou are still liable to pay AHV contributions after retirement. However, employees of normal retirement age are entitled to an allowance of CHF 1,400.00 per month or CHF 16,800.00 per year per employer. In this case, you only have to pay AHV, IV and EO contributions for the difference. The ALV contribution is waived completely.

What do I need to look out for in an employment relationship?

For your protection, we recommend that you draw up a written employment contract. The important contents of the contract, such as payment, time and place, are agreed directly between the parties. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
